Happiness is a short film c onceived and directed by my wife Charong Chow, which I photographed and edited.  The film features Ana Fouster and Greg Sanders as a blissfully newlywed couple. Many thanks to Ana and Greg for their wonderful participation, and also to Captain Chris Reuter of High Seas Yacht Deliveries and the Perspective Yacht, on which we shot the film. Chris was remarkable in terms of piloting the yacht precisely where we wanted it - and getting the sun in just the right place for every shot. He also let Hudson steer the yacht back into harbor, which was a huge thrill for our son. Thanks, too, to Marc Kraft of Pacific Yachting and Sailing at Santa Cruz Harbor for enormous help in organizing the cruise and the shoot. The entire experience was  a blast! A Christmas version of Tim Roth and me by Nath Alie. As our children prepare for bed, super excited about what tonight will bring, I offer my Christmas and holiday wishes to everyone, together with this fun seasonal reworking of a photograph of Tim Roth and me, created by Nath Alie , who runs The War Zone Message Board for survivors of abuse. While I am drawn most to Buddhism (I feel it is a way of experiencing the world, rather than a particular kind of belief), I love this time of year more than any other in terms of the magic in the air, and I still feel a childlike and perhaps primal thrill around the winter green of Christmas trees and colored lights. Wishing warmth, happiness and love to all, and peace and harmony to our beautiful planet. Merry Christmas to all...and to all a good night! (Tim, of course, will be seen this Christmas in Quentin Tarantino's new blockbuster, The Hateful Eight .)

Here we are with Applephile and friend to the core (sorry), Stephen Fry , in San Francisco the night before last year's iPhone 6 and Apple Watch launch. Stephen has been a truly inestimable pal for 20 years and simply knows everything...not just about Apple but, well, everything. And he's very very kind. Happy New Year (to those of you for whom it will be a new year) and warmest wishes to all who have sent me holiday greetings. I'm enjoying some intensive family time and cannot reply individually, but please enjoy the season, enjoy the moment that is forever constant and forever changing, be peaceful and loving in your hearts, take time to think of the smallest creature and the most ignored person, and live 2014 with a passion for everyone and everything.
